According to a finding by Transfermarkt, Erling Haaland has a release clause in his contract worth €150 million. This clause will become valid from 2024, and would allow him to leave the club if another side comes calling for him.
It also suggests that he has aspirations of moving away in the future, even though he hasn’t played for City yet. Clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona, who were very interested in trying to sign him, will be alerted by the presence of this clause.
In two years’ time, if Real Madrid want to replace Karim Benzema, then they can sign Erling Haaland from Manchester City by paying his €150 million release clause. Considering the sheer talent he possesses, it will be a reasonable price even though it is among the highest in history.
