I know all the leaks about this Sony WH-1000XM5 probably messed up all excitements for most of us. But still, the official launch is always special. So finally, that happened; the Sony WH-1000XM4 is official now. It has landed at $399.99 in the usual two colour options, which are Black and Silver.
Sony is already a global leader in the audio market with its industry leading noise cancellation, pleasant audio output, and other signature features. However, with this new WH-1000XM5, the company has claimed more improvement, especially in Noise Cancelling. The noticeable change is there for the mid and frequency noises, according to Sony. It means that users can expect a better performance of this headset in any traffic or human voice noises processing. All thanks to the second processor Sony put inside.
The successor is coming with 30mm drivers this time, instead of the 40mm driver. This step is probably taken to balance the bass production along with the overall clarity improvement to deliver more natural experiences.
One eye-catching change for the WH-1000XM4 is its design. Sony has used a new synthetic leather type, which is thinner than the earlier material in use, to cover the headband. The slider also becomes sleeker now with its new stem like design. Despite these design changes, the controls are the same. Both the gesture area and physical button to switch between Ambient and ANC mode are present.
With the noise cancellation, this headset can go for up to 30 long hours, whereas without the noise cancellation, it will run up to 10 more hours. Bluetooth 5.2 is there onboard for connectivity. Other most of the specs are the same as the WH-1000XM4.
