Gigabyte has released a new 55-inch 4K gaming display that is packed with cutting-edge technology. The Gigabyte S55U’s specifications make it look to be a very appealing product without raising concerns about its financial feasibility.
In other words, if you’re looking for an AMD FreeSync Premium compatible alternative to an Nvidia-certified big format gaming panel, this could be a good fit.
First and foremost, the 55-inch 4K display employs VA technology with quantum dots to provide vibrant colors. This monitor offers excellent brightness and contrast figures, with a DCI-P3 color gamut of 96 percent.
It also has a 2 ms reaction time and up to 120 Hz refresh rate, which is impressive for a panel of this size and resolution. The 132 local dimming zone backlight array will improve contrast in gaming and multimedia consumption.
The Gigabyte product is more than just a gorgeous screen; it also comes with a lot of extras
This monitor runs on Android and includes a built-in Chromecast and Google Assistant. It boasts dual 10W Dolby Atmos/ DTS HD speakers and a variety of sound profile preset. There is also a large number of connections, including the latest HDMI 2.1, different USB ports, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
Dedicated gaming elements are present, as expected, and could appeal to both PC and console gamers. Aim Stabilizer Sync, Black Equalizer, Crosshair, Refresh Rate, and OSD Timer are among the gaming-specific features.
At the time of writing, we don’t have pricing or availability information on the Gigabyte S55U. However, Gigabyte’s displays are normally reasonably priced, so we expect this to be the case here.
