AMD’s Leaked Reference RDNA 2 Refresh designs have just been leaked by a Canadian Retailer

It has been confirmed by Canada Computers and Electronics (via Videocardz) that AMD will release refreshed RDNA 2 graphics cards in the near future, RX 6X50 series upgrades for the company’s existing Radeon RX 6900 XT, RX 6700 XT, and RX 6600 XT.

On its website, Canada Computers and Electronics showcased new reference graphics card designs for AMD’s RX 6650 XT, RX 6750 XT, and RX 6950 XT graphics cards. These new graphics cards appear to employ AMD’s Radeon RX 6800XT Midnight Black Edition graphics card’s “Midnight Black” colour scheme, distinguishing them from AMD’s existing reference GPU models.

This commercial advertisement confirms AMD’s intended heatsink designs for the Radeon RX 6X50 XT series graphics cards (again through Videocardz), corroborating pre-existing leaks for AMD’s Radeon RX 6X50 XT series graphics cards. AMD plans to formally unveil its RX 6X50 XT line of graphics cards on May 10th, according to Videocardz. We expect AMD to publish official specifications and pricing for these new GPU models.

Unfortunately, AMD’s RX 6650XT, RX 6750XT, and RX 6950XT specifications remain unclear, although they are expected to provide consumers with the same stream processor counts as their RX 6000XT predecessors, as they purportedly use the full CU counts of AMD’s Navi 21, Navi 22, and Navi 23 GPU cores, respectively. The RX 6X50XT’s upgrades would be limited to TDP increases, memory bandwidth increases, and core clock speed increases.

According to AMD, all RX 6X50XT designs have 18Gbps GDDR6X memory modules, giving each GPU a 12.5 percent boost in memory bandwidth. However, for power or PCB compatibility concerns, some SKUs will have this memory clocked at 17.5 Gbps. The Radeon RX 6650 XT Hellhound (more info here) from PowerColor has 17.5 Gbps GDDR6 RAM.
