Manchester United are considering a payoff worth £12 million to move Anthony Martial on from the club this summer. The player is currently on loan at Sevilla, and will be returning to Old Trafford at the end of the season when the loan tenure is over.
There is no option to buy included in his loan deal, and the player and the club will have to discuss things at the end of the season to see how things go. So far, Anthony Martial’s loan spell has been quite disappointing with the Frenchman struggling with injuries, and failing to score in La Liga yet.
Anthony Martial could be paid off to leave Manchester United
‘His transfer was cheaper than you think, but it’s still a big bet, just six or seven million,’ Sevilla sporting director Monchi told Radio Sevilla.
‘Unfortunately, it is difficult to analyse Martial’s performance when he was injured and now he is injured again.
‘I’m not closing the door on his continuity although there’s a lot to see and discuss with the player at the end of the season.’
Anthony Martial currently has two years left on his deal with Manchester United, and earns a salary close to £250,000 per week. This figure is out of the reach of Sevilla or any other interested parties. Currently, United are having to pay 60% of his wages as part of the arrangement. So, any move in the summer will likely include a pay cut for the forward as well.
