Jordi Cruyff rules out Frenkie De Jong transfer
But, Barcelona consultant Jordi Cruyff has mentioned that the talented midfielder will not be sold. Several top clubs from all across the continent have come calling for him, according to the player’s father. But, the bad weather in Manchester alongside the project at Barcelona prevents a transfer for the Dutchman.
The player has several years remaining on his current deal with Barcelona. But, his recent performances have led to some backlash from the fans. In their most recent game against Rayo Vallecano, he was subbed off at the hour mark, and was visibly frustrated with the decision.
A fee around €70 million has been quoted for the Netherlands international. Barcelona currently need the money, and would be able to reinvest it into the squad as well. But, their faith in Frenkie De Jong could cause them to hold on to him even if they get a decent offer.
