Philips 345M1CR Momentum UltraWide HDR gaming monitor with 144Hz refresh rate launched

Philips has just expanded its gaming monitor portfolio and has introduced a new UltraWide gaming monitor with HDR support. The 345M1CR Momentum UltraWide gaming monitor, is being marketed to help you “take your console gaming experience to a new level.”

This suggests Philips is targeting the new Xbox Series X and Sony PlayStation5 users, which are supposed to be the ‘next-generation’ in the gaming console era, to pair these monitors for a better gaming experience.

Being a curved display, the Philips Momentum UltraWide monitor is 2.4x faster than a standard monitor due to its high 144 Hz refresh rate. The monitor packs a 34-inch ultra-wide screen has an anti-glare coating with 21:9 aspect ratio with a response time of just 4 ms.

It also 178º wide viewing angles with 3000: 1 contrast ratio and 100% of NTSC as well as 119% of sRGB colour gamut. For the ports and I/O, we have 2x DisplayPort and 2x HDMI 2.0 ports along with USB-B x 1 port (upstream), USB 3.2 x 4 port (downstream, with 1 fast-charging BC 1.2).

On the other hand, the Moving Picture Response Time (MPRT) is even lower at 1 ms, and max brightness levels go up to 300 cd/m². Also, Philips has mentioned support for HDR for this 32-inch Momentum UltraWide gaming monitor.

This means all the PS5 or Xbox Series X owners can enjoy 3440×1440 @144 Hz via the DisplayPort connection.

The Philips Momentum UltraWide monitor features flicker-free technology to save your eyes during long gaming sessions. The company has yet to reveal the price tag or the potential release date for the 345M1CR Momentum UltraWide monitor. Sources: Philips (China)
