Fulham have secured a return back to the Premier League, having won the Championship title. They are the first to have secured a return to the top flight, and will have a huge task to prevent yoyo-ing between the Championship and the top flight next season.
To put things into perspective, Fulham have been between the first and second division consistently for the last five years.
The 3-0 win against Preston guaranteed promotion for the Cottagers, who have been quite impressive in the Championship under Marco Silva. Their star striker, Aleksandar Mitrovic, has scored 40 goals from just as many Championship games this season. And as a result, he is one of the key parts of the team to help bring them back to the Premier League.
Fulham secure return to the Premier League
The newly-promoted side will have some work to do in the transfer market if they are to stay up in the Premier League next season. Now that their objective for the season is accomplished, Liverpool are ready to announce the signing of Fabio Carvalho from the club.
The attacking midfielder will be leaving for Merseyside, as agreed beforehand. He will not be loaned back to them, and will be integrated into the first team under Jurgen Klopp.
Fulham have already found a replacement for the youngster. They have reached an agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk for Manor Solomon, a player with a similar profile as that of Carvalho. The Israeli winger will join for €7.5 million with a 15% sell-on clause included.
