Newcastle United wants Coutinho as their first big signing under new owner

The Premier League will soon be taken over by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohamed bin Salman. After that Newcastle will get a new life and have much more transfer budget and obviously a totally new life much like when Sheikh Mansour took over Manchester City.

Newcastle is looking to make use of their new-found wealth by making a number of big signings this summer and, according to the Express, they are looking up a move for a Barcelona player i.e. Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazilian is currently at loan to Bayern Munich and the Barcelona board is treating Coutinho as ‘burden’ and is very likely to sell him if they get a decent price. Now it seems the player has been linked with a move to St James’ Park.

Coutinho

Newcastle will be looking to spend big to be competitive against the Premier League’s biggest clubs. The former Liverpool man is no doubt a world-class player who can strengthen their side.

Barcelona will listen to any offers for Coutinho, who they paid 160 million euros for in 2018 to land him to Camp Nou. Bayern Munich is very unlikely to take up their purchase option to sign him permanently so Coutinho will return to Camp Nou, but if no club can meet his wage and transfer fee then he will likely be used in Setien’s squad.

The Brazilian has attracted plenty of Premier League interest including Tottenham, Chelsea and Everton but who will ultimately afford him in this pandemic is the question.

The Blaugranas are hoping that the English interest will meet the playmaker’s huge transfer fee and Newcastle can be one of them if Mohamed bin Salman takes over the club soon.
