Eden Hazard made his dream move to Real Madrid this season in a bid to replace Cristiano Ronaldo. There’s no doubt that the former Chelsea forward is one of the best and can single-handedly change a match.
But unfortunately, Hazard’s first season at the Bernabeu is far from worth remembering. He has been sidelined with various injuries whenever he looked ready to get back to his old self, the one we were used to at Chelsea.
Hazard suffered his first ankle injury in a Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain in November. It took him almost 3 months to return to action again. But he fractured his right ankle again during a 1-0 LaLiga defeat at Levante in February.
He has now gone under surgery in the US right before the Coronavirus outbreak and thankfully he is recovering very well from the injury.
Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez told Belgian media: “I know he [Eden Hazard] is recovering well. He is not far from running again and there are no complications. Everything went well with the operation, but you also hope that everything goes well in the four to five weeks afterwards without complications, and there were none.”
“We know he will return stronger. We were also fortunate, of course, to have his surgery take place just before the coronavirus outbreak. Otherwise, he would not be able to travel or be treated outside of Madrid. I have a positive feeling that Eden will be back soon.”
