After losing some of its shares to AMD for months now, finally Intel bounces back in Steam’s Hardware & Software Survey for March in terms of processor usage.

According to the latest information published by the gaming platform, suddenly, Intel has enjoyed a considerable percentage gain in March, rising from 78.2% to 81.25%. Intel has made considerable gains in both Windows-operated systems and Linux-based systems.

Intel grabs AMD's shares in Steam's latest processor usage survey

There has been +0.24% movement for Intel in the Windows-operated systems whereas there’s a huge +1.23% change in the Linux-based system. This is surprising because on one side AMD is dominating CPU sales but losing its ground to Intel when it comes to gaming.

It will be interesting to see if this ends up being only a monthly blip or a start of a complete trend reversal for Intel. Intel recently revealed its 10th Generation Comet Lake-H CPUs with flagship performers like the Intel Core i9-10980HK and Core i7-10850H.

This will increase the percentage of gamers to Intel with their improvements over previous-generation parts. But the fact remains that AMD has a very strong Ryzen 4000 processor lineup so Intel might face a hard time taking any further share from its rival in the future, especially in the laptop market.
