Samsung’s Smartphone manufacturing Factories in India are TEMPORARILY Closed due to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Keeping in mind the seriousness of this worldwide Pandemic situation created due to the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) Samsung is forced to shut its largest smartphone manufacturing factory in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Currently this the largest smartphone manufacturing factory of Samsung with the capability of producing around 120 million (120,000,000) units in a year. Following Government’s request, the company is shutting its factory down ti8ll 25th March till further notice.

Previously the factory in Gumi, South Korea, was also closed twice for brief periods, leaving the Vietnam plan as the only one not to be affected by the outbreak (for now), otherwise, all the major factories have been affected in these few days of the outbreak.

Mr. Partha Ghosh, Head of Corporate Communications at Samsung India, clarified that the manufacturer has decided “to currently suspend our manufacturing operations and have asked employees at our sales, marketing, and R&D offices across India to work from home.”

He also added:

Some key critical services, such as customer service, will work with limited staff.

South Korean company LG will also comply with the Indian government’s advice and will shut down its two factories – the one for appliances in Noida and another in Pune, but they will remain closed until the end of this month.
