Following their defeat against Al Jazira in their first meeting, Mumbai City FC played out a 0-0 draw in the return leg of their AFC Champions League clash. The Islanders now have four points from three games in the competition. They are tied with the two other teams in their group on four, while Al Shabab are cruising ahead with 10 points.

The game was mostly a cagey affair, with both sides failing to create a lot of chances throughout the game. It took almost half an hour for either side to have a clear cut opportunity at goal. Al Jazira had most of the ball and the chances initially, but nothing came to pass.

Phurba Lachenpa was called into action in the final minutes of the first half. The goalkeeper had to save a shot from point blank range to keep the scores level, and went on to keep a clean sheet.

Bruno tried to give Al Jazira the lead several times throughout the game, with some intelligent passes. However, Lachenpa’s heroics helped keep the Indian side in the game.

Diego Mauricio was through on goal during the final stages of the game. However, his shot was denied by Ali Khasif, the opposition goalkeeper. Mumbai City FC will be playing Al Shabab on Friday in their next game, while Air Force Club face Al-Jazira on the same day.
