Dejan Kulusevski has had a great start to life in the Premier League, featuring as a regular under Antonio Conte alongside Harry Kane and Heung-min Son. The details behind the deal that Tottenham struck to sign him have now been revealed.
The player is currently on a loan deal from Juventus until June 2023, with the Premier League club covering his full salary. The loan fee that Juventus will receive for the player is around €10 million. After 1.5 seasons on loan, two clauses will become active in his contract.
Dejan Kulusevski’s transfer details revealed
Spurs will have the option of making the loan move permanent for €30 million this summer. The buy option will remain valid until 2023. But, there is a second clause that comes into play.
If Dejan Kulusevski features in over 50% of Premier League games with 45 minutes or more, and Tottenham qualify for the Champions League, then the option to buy will become mandatory. The price tag will be worth €35 million next summer, as a result.
Kulusevski is happy with life in London, and is also happy working with Antonio Conte. Fabio Paratici, the director of Spurs, was at Juventus when he signed for the Bianconeri, and was responsible for bringing him to England as well.
After his bright start to life in the Premier League, Tottenham are hopeful that Kulusevski can deliver on higher levels consistently with more experience.
