Barcelona progressed past Galatasaray in the second leg of their Round of 16 Europa League fixture to seal their spot in the last eight. The Blaugrana had to turn around a 1-goal deficit to earn the win at the NEF Stadyumu.
Things ended level in the first leg at Camp Nou, with neither side being able to find a goal to put themselves ahead.
Barcelona defeat Galatasaray to move on in Europa League
The Turkish side gained the lead around the half hour mark, courtesy of Brazilian centre-back Marcao. The Galatasaray captain converted from a well taken corner to put his side ahead, but their lead was short-lived.
However, Pedri netted a brilliant goal, dancing past the defenders after a quick passing series to equalise for Barcelona within ten minutes, slotting the ball past Inaki Pena.
The visitors started the second half perfectly, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang giving his side the lead in the fixture. After Pena saved a header from the striker, the ball fell to Frenkie De Jong, passed it back for Aubameyang to score into an empty net. The Gabon international has been on fire ever since joining Barcelona, and netted his seventh goal in ten games for his new club.
Barcelona will be facing Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in the quarter finals of the Europa League. If they are able to progress into the semis, they will be drawn against West Ham United or Lyon on the way to the final.
