Manchester United have completed the signing of youth talent Toby Collyer from Brighton. The contract has been signed, and the deal has been completed, according to renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.
The midfielder has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the Red Devils and will be developing as part of their youth team. Toby Collyer has captained England at the youth level, and will now be playing for one of the biggest clubs in the country after moving from Brighton.
Manchester United sign Toby Collyer
The midfielder’s arrival was carried out by John Murtough and Ralf Rangnick, both of whom were impressed by what they saw. The 18-year-old has shown tremendous potential at a young age, and will be a big part of the future of the club. Ralf Rangnick’s transfer strategy to reset the current situation of the club is now fully underway with the arrival of the youngster.
West Ham United and Chelsea were also interested in signing Collyer, but he chose to join Manchester United instead. He has been called one of the best midfielders in the country by his former coaches, and is known to put in a tireless shift on the pitch every time he plays.
The first team is in dire need of a reliable defensive midfielder, and in a few years, they might have a (partially) homegrown talent at their disposal. But, in all likelihood, Toby Collyer’s arrival might not stop the first team from recruiting a known defensive midfielder to provide instant stability.
