Three Chinese smartphone pioneers are reportedly in talks with Indian smartphone manufacturers about making phones locally and selling them to the global markets. As per a report from a Bloomberg report, this decision comes in after taking into consideration the cash incentives that local device makers get.

The three brands we are talking about are Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo. As per this report courtesy of Bloomberg, these companies are all in discussion with two of the well-known Indian device makers.

Xiaomi is in talks with Dixon Technologies, while Oppo and Vivo are consulting with Lava. If this plan works out, we can see Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo all slap the ‘Assembled in India’ tag on their devices.

All these brands are looking to take advantage of cash incentives that are available to local device makers such as Lava and Dixon. With these incentive benefits, the company may be able to offer affordable products in India.

The phone rates could vary for global markets that will receive these devices that are assembled in India.

Both Lava and Dixon technologies are aiming to boost India’s competitiveness and make the country a hub for electronics production. The manufacturing process could start as early as this year. For now, the company officials from these brands are likely to visit the Indian factories very soon.

We can expect the prices of the devices to drop a bit as well, which will be a major point of relief to customers.
