BCCI is all set to allow fans in Mohali stadium when the match between India and Sri Lanka takes place. The match is going to commence from Friday and it is going to Virat Kohli’s 100th test Match. He’s the 12th player from the country to achieve this benchmark. The tickets will go on sale from Wednesday.
The unexpected decision by BCCI
BCCI has given Punjab Cricket Association the permission to allow the fans for India vs Sri Lanka’s first test match in Mohali. Earlier it was decided that the the Test match will have no spectators but this decision got a lot of criticism from fans. Many fans had crossed all barriers in criticizing BCCI stating they have a rift with Virat Kohli. However, the PCA treasurer confirmed that the tickets will go on sale from Wednesday 2nd March.
“We got the communication from BCCI about the allowing of fans for the 1st Test match at Mohali. So far, we will allow online sale of tickets from Wednesday onwards. Fans will be there to watch Virat Kohli play his 100th Test match.” said RP Singla, treasurer, PCA told the Indian Express.
The decision of allowing spectators is based on several factors as said by the PCA office bearers and the cricket fans will witness the historic moment of Virat playing his 100th test match.
Celebrating Virat’s 100th Test
India are scheduled to play a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka starting from March 4 after win in T20Is. The first Test of the series will be played in Mohali and will be played behind closed doors due to Covid-19 restrictions. The Test will be the 100th game of the red-ball career for Virat Kohli.
