Manchester City tasted defeat in the Premier League for the first time in 112 days, as Tottenham Hotspur defeated them 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium. Here are the three key talking points from the game.
Kulusevski & Harry Kane deliver big win
In his first Premier League start, Dejan Kulusevski scored against the league leaders within five minutes to open the scoring. An unselfish pass from Son in the face of goal set up the Swede for his big goal early on in the game.
Harry Kane would then find himself on the scoresheet twice, to help earn all three points for the visitors. The England captain scored near the hour mark to give his side the lead again after Gundogan’s equaliser. He would then score a header in the final minutes of the game to pull off a remarkable comeback.
Strong case for top four
With their win against Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur need to win their two games in hand to break into the top four with 45 points. While City had a disappointing day in front of goal, Antonio Conte’s men showed up and made the most of their chances to take three priceless points in their toughest game of the season.
Title race hots up as Manchester City slip
Liverpool have 57 points and a game in hand, and have a glorious chance to close the gap to 3 points. As of right now, Manchester City’s position at the top of the table doesn’t look as strong as it did before. And if they win their game in hand, Jurgen Klopp’s men will be right back in the title race with their rivals.
