Paris Saint-Germain women earned a 6-2 win over Guingamp, to comfortably take three points from the game. And in the process, star striker Marie-Antoinette Katoto became the highest-ever goalscorer for the Parisians.
The previous record was held by Marie-Laure Delie, who scored 131 times for the club between 2007 and 2018. Katoto now has 132 goals for the club, and is now on her way to extend the record.
Marie-Antoinette Katoto becomes the highest-ever goalscorer in the history of PSG
To put things into perspective, Katoto is only 23 years old. She has only played 148 games for the club, and is already in the history books.
Marie-Antoinette Katoto joined Paris Saint-Germain at the age of 12, in 2011. She spent her entire youth career with the Rouge et Bleu. She won the French Championship with the U19 women’s team in 2016.
Her debut with the French club came in 2015, and she scored her first goal against Rodez, which came a few months following her first appearance. Katoto finished as the top scorer in the 2017/18 season with 22 goals throughout the campaign. She also scored the winning goal in the Coupe de France against Lyon in the same season.
With her outrageous scoring record at such a young age, she could be one of the best strikers in the world if she is able to steer the club towards silverware.
