Jamie Vardy himself achieved this feat in 2015 and he has achieved this incredible feat this season again.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is at his peak form and it seems he is scoring goals for fun now. He became the first player to score in eight consecutive Premier League games since he previously achieved the feat himself in 2015.

Leicester City won the Premier League out of the blue during the 2015/16 season. He scored in 11 consecutive Premier League matches that season.

8+ – Jamie Vardy is just the second player in Premier League history to score in eight successive games on two separate occasions, after Ruud van Nistelrooy in January 2002 and August 2003. Punisher. pic.twitter.com/PjnDXTtWRW

This 8 match scoring run started in the 2-1 win over Burnley on 19th October and was followed a week later with a hat-trick in the 9-0 routing at Southampton. Since then he has scored against Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Brighton, Everton and Watford before today’s strike against Aston Villa.

With his 20th minute strike at Villa Park, Vardy is now just three matches short of equalling his own Premier League record. If he manages to bag goals in the league matches against Norwich, Manchester City and league leaders Liverpool on Boxing Day, he will match his own tally of scoring in 11 successive Premier League matches.

The football fans went crazy after his 8 match scoring streak. One said: “Jamie Vardy made a mess of that, didn’t he. When it’s going for you it’s going for you I suppose. What a player.” Another wrote: “Everything about that goal was pure Jamie Vardy, the run in behind, the scrappy finish & then the celebration.” And another one wrote: “8th game in a row! Vardy can miss kick it and still score. The man’s ridiculous.”

Leicester City is closing back to within eight points of leaders Liverpool and are now posing as a serious title contender.

Jamie Vardy has been the English Premier League’s most prolific forward since Brendan Rodgers’ first game in charge of Leicester City on 3rd March. He scored 24 league goals in this time, seven more than any other Premier League player.
