Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google and Alphabet has been awarded the Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian award in India, on this Republic Day. On this, Pichai said he is “deeply grateful” to the Padma Award Committee, the President, Prime Minister and Indians for the honor.
In the statement, Pichai said, “I am deeply grateful to the Padma Awards Committee, the President and Prime Minister, as well as the people of India for this honor. It’s made all the more meaningful to be among this esteemed group of individuals who have each had a profound impact on their fields and communities, and I am humbled to receive this award alongside them.”
