Galatasaray are preparing to sign Gedson Fernandes on loan from Portuguese club Benfica. The player will join Galatasaray for 18 months, until June 2023 and will have his entire salary covered by them for the duration of the loan.

The paperworks are all set to be completed, and it is only a matter of time before the transfer is made official. Fernandes has not had a lot of playing time with Benfica this season, making only three league appearances and no starts.

Gedson Fernandes to Galatasaray imminent

Gedson Fernandes spent a year at Tottenham Hotspur before returning and joining Galatasaray on deadline day of the winter 2021 transfer window. And by the looks of things, he is all set to make a return to the club after six months with Benfica.

Playing opportunities have been hard to come by for the midfielder, who will look to further his career with the Turkish club. The loan fee for the transfer is expected to be around €1.5 million.

Galatasaray have been struggling in the league this season, and currently rank 14th in the table. Gedson Fernandes was quite impressive in his previous stint with the Turkish club, and they could use a boost from his arrival right now.

The midfield is considered the Istanbul club’s weakest spot, and Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim was adamant on bringing Fernandes back. He will have his man back in the team soon by the looks of things.
