The rescheduled game between ATK Mohun Bagan and Odisha FC was played out to a 0-0 draw. As a result, both teams had to share a point each in the ISL. Here are the three talking points from the game.
Initial attacking blaze not enough for ATK Mohun Bagan
The Mariners came out firing on all fronts in the initial minutes of the game, right up until the first half whistle. David Williams, Manvir Singh, Liston Colaco and Roy Krishna were all on the pitch for ATK Mohun Bagan, and they created chances every time they went forward.
Based on the kind of football we saw from the team in the first half, it was very surprising that we didn’t see a goal from either team in the entire 90 minutes.
Game of two halves
Odisha FC were pegged back in the first half, but came back to attack strongly in the second. Javier Hernandez, Jerry Mawihmingthanga and Isaac Chhakchhuak led the attack for Odisha. Javi Hernandez thought that they had a goal in the 83rd minute, but it was deemed offside. It was a very different performance from them in the second half, but to no end result.
Arshdeep Singh helps keep a clean sheet for Odisha FC
In the first few minutes of the game, ATK Mohun Bagan’s attack left Odisha very disorganised. The Indian goalkeeper was a rock between the posts, and was vital to them keeping a clean sheet in the game against the Mariners today.
