England vs Australia Ashes, 5th Test, Day 3: Australia won by a huge margin of 146 runs

Australia defeated England in the final match of the Ashes by 146 runs at Bellerive Oval in Hobart with a figure of 4-0.

England once again had a poor batting performance as they were all out for 124 runs in the fourth innings. Australia had set a target of 271 runs. Cameron Gree, Scott Boland and Pat Cummins dismissed 3 batters each and Mitchell Starc took one wicket for the Australian team in the final innings. England had a steady start with a 68-rub opening partnership and probably that’s the only good thing that happened with the team today. Zak Crawley is the leading scorer for the English team with 36 runs.

Match Highlights

Australia won the test series by 4-0 against England in the five-Test series and won the Ashes for the 35th time. They set a target of 271 runs and the hosts dismissed every player of England on 124 runs. England had to surrender to its opponent team. Australia scored 155 runs in the second innings and England got a very strong start in their 271-run chase on Day 3 of the Ashes Test in Hobart. Cameron Green picked three wickets for Australia which helped Australia’s win. England was reduced to 101/5. The English didn’t fight back and they lost all of their wickets within the next 23 runs.

Former Ashes winning Captain Michael Vaughan said that he is ready to accept defeat but not in the way it happened in the recent Test series.

“Australia just too good for England, but I have to say this is embarrassing … they’ve just thrown the towel in,”- Vaughan

Travis Head received the Player of the Match and Player of the Series titles. he’s happy to have his impact in winning the series and for him, the victory was special since the conditions were quite challenging.
