“Guardians of the Galaxy”: James Gunn opened up about the Legal appearance of Marvel Character

Guardians of the Galaxy is definitely one of the much-anticipated films of Marvel. After The Walt Disney Company fetched 20th Century Fox you might be thinking that Marvel Studios would have some free reign for doing anything that they like with the characters that have been appeared into the decades worth with the comics with the only exception for Spider-Man that is still rolling on Sony.

It is very sad that it is not the actual scenario as Guardian of the Galaxy writer-director James Gunn has revealed at least two characters that he desires to put into the MCU but legally cannot. He has said that before many, many times, Gunn was questioned on Twitter about the possibility of utilizing the character Rom Spaceknight with one of his Guardians films, sadly, despite such facts that he just wanted to, but he cannot.

In the response, Gunn tweeted: “ Alas I cannot as Marvel no longer holds the rights to Rom – just to some other Spaceknights and parts of the story created in the comics- otherwise, believe you me, ol’ toaster head would probably be in the Guardians by now.”

There is the follow-up tweet from Gunn also has been confirmed that the Marvel character Bug, and also there is another fan favorite that at any point was the part of the Guardians of the Galaxy in the comics.

It cannot be on the team from his legal standing and it is complicated like well. For those who are unaware, both Rom and Micronauts have been owned by Hasbro and there are more originally in Marvel Comics for the licensing deal that has been expired long.

Gunn has been revealed in the past before as his desire to use such characters, but it seems pretty firm and also thinking about the deal that will never be made to have happened.

For many years now Hasbro has engaged to get the projects off the ground revolved around the characters just like Rom, Micronauts, and others, they are also wishing to replicate the success that they had also with Transformers.

In 2017, they just have signed such an exclusive deal with Paramount Pictures for developing all of the properties onto the big screen and there are also several attempts had been made at scripts of writing, there is none have been dropped except for Bumblebee and Snakes Eyes.

It has been ended with such potential word of optimism, and also even though Gunn himself seems to be resolute in thinking as it will never occur if Marvel becomes able to work out a deal with Sony Pictures to co-produce Spider-Man that is still holding the hope from Rom Spaceknight in the MCU.

A big thanks for the source.
