Design:
The iQOO Neo 5S and the iQOO Neo 5SE are not that far apart when it comes to design. They have a similar look and they are made of polycarbonate for both the rear cover and the frame.
If you were to really nitpick, the iQOO Neo 5S is slightly better because it is more compact than its Special Edition. For the rest, these devices are pretty much the same.
They have a display with a single punch hole, very narrow bezels, and a rectangular camera module with a similar color to the rear cover. Both the power key and the volume rockers are placed on the right side, while the left side is bumpless, for the lack of a better word.
Display:
One of the most important pros of the iQOO Neo 5s in comparison to the iQOO Neo 5SE is the display. Unlike its internal rival, the device is equipped with an AMOLED panel which shows brighter colours and deeper blacks.
The display comes with a diagonal of 6.62″, a 120Hz refresh rate, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, and an HDR10+ certification.
The iQOO Neo 5SE may be a bit more interesting for gamers owing to its 144Hz refresh rate, but its display is not as good. It features an LCD panel with a Full HD+ resolution and the HDR10 certification, as well as a wider 6.67″ diagonal.
Keep in mind that the iQOO Neo 5S has an in-display fingerprint reader, while the fingerprint scanner is side-mounted on the iQOO Neo 5SE.
Specs & Software:
The iQOO Neo 5S is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip, the iQOO Neo 5SE offers the same memory configurations but has the Snapdragon 870 chipset which is not a bad chip but if we are comparing it with the Snapdragon 888, then it does have its drawbacks.
Both the devices are based on Android 11 OS and round on OriginOS Ocean customization which will soon be based on Android 12. These two devices are among the most advanced in terms of performance and they also match the most expensive flagships.
Camera:
The iQOO Neo 5S is far from being a top camera phone, it still does offer very good camera specs such as a 48MP primary sensor with OIS, a 13MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro sensor.
Well, this is definitely better than the iQOO Neo 5SE which relatively offers lower midrange cameras including a 5OMP sensor, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro sensor. The front camera of the iQOO Neo 5S offers a better focal aperture as well.
Battery:
The iQOO Neo 5S and the iQOO Neo 5SE have the same battery, however the former provides a longer battery life as its display has a lower energy consumption owing to the AMOLED technology and its chip is built in such a way that it has a better production process. The iQOO Neo 5S charges quicker owing to a faster-charging power of 66W.
Pricing:
The iQOO Neo 5S is priced at $430 or 32,419 INR in China while the iQOO Neo 5SE is priced at $340 or 25,634 INR. The former does provide a better display, chip, and cameras, while the latter is budget-friendly. The iQOO Neo 5S is a higher value for money in any case.
