Mumbai City FC continued their dominant performance in the ISL with a narrow 1-0 win over Chennaiyin FC. Here are the three talking points from the game.

3 points are 3 points

While it wasn’t a dominant win by any means, it was enough to earn them three points. The Islanders now have 15 points, and are comfortably at the top of the league table. Aside from their defeat against Hyderabad FC, they have won all their other games this season.

The only goal of the match was scored late by Rahul Bheke, who headed the ball from a free kick position to score late and win the game.

Kaith’s adventures cost Chennaiyin FC

Vishal Kaith tried a number of catches during the game. The keeper came off his line to try and collect the ball a number of times in the first half, but failed to do so. After almost conceding from a misplaced catch, he was given an earful by Slavko Damjanovic.

However, in the second half, he would rush off his line to parry the ball away again. Kaith completely missed the ball and Rahul Bheke headed the ball into the unguarded net to score from the free kick.

Mumbai City FC: Dominant league leaders solid at the back

The centre-back pairing of Mourtada Fall and Rahul Bheke has been working wonders for the league leaders this season. While they haven’t had the best defensive record in the season, they have looked unbeatable at times.

It took some time for @RahulBheke to break the deadlock tonight, but he did it in some style! πŸ”₯

The defenders are not only good at keeping the opposition from scoring, but also have several goals between themselves. As a result, they are extremely valuable to the team and will be one of the key factors if Mumbai City FC end up winning the title.
