Real Sociedad winger Adnan Januzaj is starting to attract interest from fellow La Liga side Barcelona. The Blaugrana are in the market for an attacking talent in the January transfer window due to their poor performances on the pitch recently.
What is Adnan Januzaj’s Situation?
Januzaj only has six months left on his current deal with Sociedad. Even though he intended to renew his deal, he has not managed to find an agreement with the club just yet. Moreover, the interest from Barcelona might change his mind about staying at Real Sociedad as well.
The Belgian winger was one of the brightest talents to come out of the Manchester United academy. But, he struggled for game time under Louis Van Gaal and Jose Mourinho. He was sent out on loan to Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland before deciding to end his association with the Red Devils.
The player joined Real Sociedad in 2017, and has been with them since. In four years with the club, Adnan Januzaj has made 146 appearances across all competitions. He has provided 20 goals and assists in those games.
How are Barcelona Placed?
Barcelona have been linked with the likes of Ferran Torres and Anthony Martial as targets in the January transfer window. But, being desperate and low on cash, they might choose to turn to Januzaj as well. With only six months left on his deal, he will not be very expensive to sign if Barcelona want to make a move. But conversely, they could wait it out and sign him for free when the season ends.
