India vs New Zealand match highlights

Virat and Company achieved victory in the 2nd Test against New Zealand that was held in Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium. Team India finished the game against New Zealand in just 45 minutes on the fourth day of 2nd Test. Clearly India won the series at 1-0

Spinners Jayant Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin had a terrific performance. Both of them picked four wickets each. Batters Henry Nicholls and Rachin Ravindra had a steady performance before the later got dismissed. Ashwin had an advantage from a reflex stumping by Wriddhiman Saha to pick the last wicket of the Kiwis and India had a spectacular victory.

  • Till date, the margin of 372 is the highest for the Indian team breaking their previous record of 337-run victory against South Africa in Delhi in 2015. It is also the biggest defeat for the Kiwis in Test by runs.
  • Virat Kohli has become the first cricketer to have 50 Test wins, 50 ODI wins and 50 T20I wins

  • India has won 14 test series in a row since 2011. 11 of them have been won under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.
  • In the 12th attempt too, New Zealand has could not succeed beating India in the Test series. Last time New Zealand win against India was in 1988.
  • Ashwin picked up 8 wickets in the Mumbai Test and he joined the club of 300 wickets in Test cricket in a home series. He joined the club of Muttiah Muralitharan(Sri Lanka), James Anderson (England), Anil Kumble (India). Stuart Broad (England), Shane Warne (Australia).

  • After Anil Kumble(350), he became the only player to have 300 wickets, the milestone he reached in his 49th Test at home ground.
  • Ashwin has taken the top-spot in a game against new Zealand, as he got 66 wickets, beating Richard Hadlee who had taken 65 wickets.

India again reclaimed the top spot in ICC test rankings, with its wing against New Zealand
