India vs New Zealand 2nd Test, Day 3 highlights

Ashwin dismissed three batters, with Daryl Mitchell’s 60 runs, the Black Caps reached 140/5 at stumps. The Kiwis need 400 runs to win the 2nd test. The 2nd Test for India vs New Zealand is held in Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium.

Day 3 of the 2nd Test belonged to India again. The Indian team took complete control as the New Zealand team lost their top order batter Ross Taylor in the 540 run chase. Tom Latham was the first batter who got out scoring just 6 runs. Next on the list was Will Young who made 20 runs. R Ashwin is to be credited for all three wickets. It was the perfect partnership between Henry Nicholls and Daryl Mitchell that gave the New Zealand team a ray of hope. Mitchell also made his 2nd Test century but got dismissed soon. After the 73-run stand, a mix-up between Tom Blundell and Nicholas, made Blundell lose a wicket.

On the other hand, a batting display helped the Men in Blue achieve 276 runs for just 6 wickets. Mayank Agarwal remains the top run-getter with 62, Cheteshwar Pujara and Shubman Gill following him. Each scored 47 runs. Axar Patel’s performance could not be ignored as well since he scored 41 runs in just 26 balls. From New Zealand’s star bowler Ajaz Patel, again took 4 wickets in the second innings. Agarwal and Pujara had a 100 run partnership.

Earlier, India had scored 325 runs in the first innings, where Mayank Agarwal scored 150 and Ajaz dismissed 10 batters. New Zealand scored 62 and Indian bowlers Ashwin and Siraj led the game.

Ajaz Patel joined the list of greatest bowlers of New Zealand

New Zealand needs to put in their best for the next two days if they want to make a positive outcome from this test series.
