Leicester City defeated Watford in a 4-2 goalfest at the King Power Stadium. Two records were set in the game, by goalscorers from both the teams.
Jamie Vardy was on target twice for Leicester City, and was assisted by James Maddison on both occasions. The 34-year-old now has nine goals in the Premier League this season, and is in contention for the Golden Boot award once again.
Since turning 30 years old, Vardy has scored 93 Premier League goals. This puts him level with Ian Wright for the record. And considering the season that the striker is having once more, he will surely surpass Wright in the next few games.
Vardy will have spent ten years with Leicester City next year, joining from Fleetwood Town in 2012. He has since played 369 games for the Foxes and has scored 156 times, and provided 62 assists. As a result, he is one of the club’s biggest legends in recent years due to the impact he has had.
On the other side, Emmanuel Dennis of Watford has also set a record for himself. The forward has scored five goals and provided five assists in 12 games for the Hornets. This puts him in elite company alongside Arjen Robben, Bruno Fernandes, Andrey Arshavin, Eric Cantona and Jurgen Klinsmann.
At 24, Dennis is starting to make a name for himself this season. He is the attacking star for Watford so far this season, who have 13 points from as many games at this stage.
