Chennaiyin FC’s 1-0 win over Hyderabad FC completes the games for round 1 of the 21/22 ISL season. Vlagyimir Koman scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the second half to give his team the win.The South Indian team is one of the four to win their first games this year.

And shortly after, the game turned into a quick paced affair with both teams trying their best to achieve a breakthrough. Hyderabad FC then started their own attack, dominating most of the possession and the chances. However, they would both spend the first half without a goal to show for all the effort.

In the second half, Chennaiyin captain Anirudh Thapa was brought down in the box by Hitesh Sharma shortly after the hour mark. The spot kick was converted by Koman, which was enough to seal all three points for the team.

Here is what Bozidar Bandovic, the winning coach, had to say:

“Every win is a good win, its important three points. We win the game but of course we cannot be happy with how we play today especially first half because most of our preparation was about moving the ball, keeping the ball. This game we didn’t do it but if you win these games it’s important for the confidence and of course next game we need to be much better.”
