Josh Hazlewood gave 16 runs and took 3 wickets. Adam Zampa had a figure of 1/26. Australia won the toss and their captain Aaron Finch decided to bowl against New Zealand. Both teams finished second in their groups. England topping the chart for Group I and Pakistan topping the chart for Group II. New Zealand beat England in the first semi-final at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Australia defeated Pakistan in the second semi-final in Dubai.

Australian skipper Aaron Finch said “This is huge. To be the first Australian team to be able to do it. So proud. We knew our backs were against the wall. We had some great individual performances, some great team performances. Can’t believe people wrote him off saying he was done (Warner). That’s when he plays his best cricket. Was almost like poking the bear. The player of the tournament for me (Zampa). Mitch Marsh – what a way to start his innings today. Wade came into this game with an injury cloud but got a job done. Stoinis did the business.”

Warner was humiliated at this venue by IPL (Indian Premier League). It was the tournament where Warner made a comeback, after not being in a good form but today he proved his worth to the entire world.

New Zealand struggled in first 10 overs with Martin Guptill’s 28 runs ‘out off 35 balls.

Brief scores of the T20 World Cup

New Zealand scored 172/4 in 20 overs but lost to Australia 173/2 in 18.5 overs.
