Ubisoft launched its highly anticipated game this month, the Fary Cry 6 and I have been playing this game for quite some time now. Well, I have been a fan of the Far Cry series for years now and so playing a totally new game with the new story along with much-improved graphics made me go bonkers!
If you compare Far Cry 6 with Far Cry New Dawn you will see a huge improvement in graphics and obviously the gameplay. The story has been teased for quite some time now and much like other Far Cry series, the supervillain takes a large piece of cake for the franchise’s success.
In the fight to defeat El Presidente, the rebel Dany Rojas has to conquer regions across Yara and help Libertads get back the land from El Presidente. The rich gameplay makes the game more cinematic than ever and much like the YouTube trailers, the characters look almost life-like.
The best improvement I saw was with the graphics, the game looks phenomenal and the maps as well as the onset of the story matches the hype that Ubisoft had grown earlier. I played with an RTX 3070 Ti paired with my Ryzen 7 5800X, so I had no issues playing at 4K max settings.
You can turn ray tracing on, however, you will need a GPU with large VRAM like the RTX 3080 or from AMD’s Radeon RX 6700 XT and above to fully utilise the HD textures. Sadly I couldn’t totally take advantage of it on my GeForce card but I did notice even without HD textures at 4K max settings the game looked phenomenal.
The story of Far Cry has always been the key highlight of the franchise, and in Far Cry 6 too, you see the rebel standing up against a supervillain. However, even though it has become a bit predictable but still in 2021 with rich improvement in graphics, it is a better experience than most other games.
Mush like other Fary Cry games, this one too has a big map and you have to go around regions on missions or just roam around and make Yara free from El Presidente. This has always been fun for travelling around the map and fighting against the villain and its huge army.
Another huge upgrade you notice is in the weapons and customisation section as you see, you have a wide variety of options this time around. From flamethrowers to silencers and whatnot, you can totally customize each and every part of your primary, secondary or any divide you want to carry with you.
Completing objectives by fighting against the army has always been a thriller on a Far Cry 6 and also a bit predictable off late but glad to see opponents are stronger this time around. Having a pet with you has been a signature aspect in all Far Cry games and this continues with Guapo and others who you can pet easily.
Roaming around checkpoints freeing from El Presidente is always enthralling and my God, the graphics is is really awesome as you enjoy each operation you are assigned to do so. However, this time you have more group operation though you are the centre of any mission to free Yara.
Overall, as a gaming experience, Far Cry 6 is no doubt a good game but not an extraordinary thing like what Cyberpunk brought. However, for Far Cry fans, if you love that free roam and experience to rebel and conquering the land, you will definitely like the game with a huge improvement in gameplay as well as graphics.
