The latest entry in the FIFA franchise might be the best of its game ever release but it may also be the last in the series to bear the FIFA name. And though the football game is termed to be the worst-rated game in Steams history, whether it is true remains debatable.

But, millions of players around the world are having fun playing their beloved virtual football game, and some bad children have been taking advantage of exploits to dodge losses.

EA released a notice last week that it has come across an exploit in FUT Champions (this discovery was due to a semi-viral TikTok video). this exploit allowed players to exit losing matches without the loss being counted.

The developer patched the issue quickly, saying “we resolved an issue in FUT Champions that could allow players to leave a match without suffering a loss,” but adding the warning that “we are identifying players that exploited this issue and will be following up with them directly.”

after the follow-up we now know that EA has identified the accounts that have used this behaviour “consistently”, and EA being EA, has retrospectively banned over 30,000 players from FIFA 22 online for a week.

but the cheaters are even more scared as the ban states that it has been applied for 1,000 days to which EA tweeted saying that this is just a display glitch and the bans are all for a week.

FIFA 22 has recently received an update on PC, fixing a raft of minor issues, and this year’s entry into the franchise is a good game, however,  the controversy around FUT’s monetization remains a major sticking point for the franchise.
