Jorge Mendes, Ansu Fati’s agent, has agreed to the negotiations between him and Barcelona for the renewal of the player’s contract. According to El Nacional, previously the main problem with the new deal offered was the duration of the contract.
The player’s agent has agreed to a new deal until 2027 and the news has been given the green light by renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.
While Barcelona are in the midst of serious financial problems right now, they are slowly improving their situation and have offered Fati a deal with the salary increasing yearly. This will be achieved through bonuses and extras in the contract. Sporting director Mateu Alemany travelled to Porto to meet Mendes and discuss the contract.
The board also wanted to include a €1 billion release clause in Fati’s new contract, like they did for Pedri. But, Mendes has snubbed the offer immediately since he wants to have a way out for his client if there ever needs to be one. Fati loves the club and wants to stay there for as long as he can, but Mendes is not willing to take any chances after the situation that Lionel Messi went through.
Barcelona are very happy with the progress they have made with the contract renewal of Ansu Fati, since they seem as the future of the club. Ronald Koeman has also agreed that contract talks are on and the renewal could be announced very soon.
