Alienware to launch a redesigned Aurora gaming PC on its 25th Anniversary

For its 25th Anniversary, Alienware has announced a redesign of its Aurora gaming desktop. In the new design, the company has now adopted more industry-standard parts and layouts, which is a common feature in some of the best gaming PCs.

The redesigned gaming PC is not up for sale yet, but it is expected to be a part of the next major Aurora launch. While existing Auroras use a swing-out power supply, the newly redesigned model does not do that. It’s still not entirely clear, whether the company has already switched to standard ATX power supplies.

The upcoming Aurora comes with a new and refreshed chassis with 1.5 times as much internal volume as the existing line. The new design will measure 23.2 x 20.1 x 8.86 inches (589 x 510 x 225 mm) and weigh up to 34.2 pounds (15.5 kgs).

In terms of specifications, the only concrete thing we know is the fact that the device will be offered with up to an RTX 3090 graphics card, and the rest of the specs are still kept in the dark. But we expect the new gaming PC to come with Intel’s 12th Gen processors, possibly with support for DDR5 memory and PCIe Gen 5.

Coming to other design aspects, the new Alienware desktop will come with a new cable cover that slides into place behind the rear ports. This gives the newly redesigned desktop a more rounded profile.

The new aurora seems to be much bigger than the previous models and the rest of the upgraded specs information will most probably come out in the coming days. Though I would love it if Alienware decides to go with Alder Lake, probably the flagship CPU, and with prebuilt Windows 11 OS.
