Manchester United have joined the race for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie next summer. The player only has one year remaining on his contract with the Rossoneri, and will be available as a free agent in June 2022.

Paul Pogba’s future at Old Trafford is quite uncertain, and since the Frenchman only has one year remaining, he could walk out for free. While Mino Raiola, his agent, has mentioned that there can be discussions about a new contract for Pogba, it is yet unclear if Pogba will stay or leave.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been in search for a new midfielder, and Franck Kessie could be exactly the man that the Norwegian coach needs. He has been intent on a move to England, after being unable to reach an agreement with AC Milan about a new deal.

Kessie is demanding a salary worth €8 million per season, and AC Milan are only willing to offer him €6.5 million per season. The midfielder will be able to talk to other clubs from January, and after Hakan Calhanoglu and Gigio Donnarumma, Milan could end up losing yet another prized asset for absolutely nothing. The Ivorian midfielder is worth €55 million on the transfer market right now.

Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and PSG have also been linked with the player if he is available on a free transfer next summer. However, any club will have to match his high wage demands if they want to sign him.
