Apple’s next-generation MacBook Pro models to flaunt taller 14:9 ratio displays

Apple’s next-generation MacBook Pro models are near to their estimated launch, however, we still have no idea as to what they look like. But, recently, Steve Moser and MacRumors discovered that the resolutions of the MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro, are pegged at 3,021 x 1,964 pixels and 3,456 x 2,234 pixels.

As we can imagine, the resolutions mentioned above would yield 2x Retina scaling, which is a  feature that was lacking from the recent MacBook Pros. Currently, the MacBook Pro models have a 16:10 aspect ratio which will also soon be changing. Based on these resolutions, both the MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 have 14:9 displays, also represented as 15.5:10.

So by all the above information, we can conclude that the MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 will have taller displays than Apple’s current product stack. With such display’s people can benefit from more vertical screen space, which will be a useful feature when writing or scrolling webpages.

However, 14:9 is not quite as tall as 3:2, which is the aspect ratio of Microsoft and the company just likes to flaunt it. Other OEMs like HP have since adopted the 3:2 aspect ratio too, most recently with the Spectre x360 14. In short, expect the next MacBook Pros to look a touch taller than their predecessors when Apple unveils them in October or November.

For more information regarding the upcoming MacBook Pro stay tuned.
