Redmi 9 Activ has been launched in India, a dedicated listing on Amazon confirmed on Thursday. Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi also announced that the new phone will go on sale in India on Friday, September 24th.
Redmi 9 Activ comes as a new variant of the vanilla Redmi 9, though it shares almost all the key specifications of the original model, including the same dual rear cameras as well as an identical HD+ display with a waterdrop-style display notch.
Alongside Redmi 9 Activ, the Chinese company is tipped to launch Redmi 9A Sport in the country as a new variant of Redmi 9A.
In terms of specifications, the listing on the Amazon site suggests that Redmi 9 Activ would be identical to Redmi 9 in many aspects. The phone has a 6.53″ HD+ IPS LCD display, it is powered by the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC. The phone has a 20:9 aspect ratio.
The device has a dual-camera setup with a primary 13MP sensor with a 2MP sensor, it has a 5MP selfie shooter.
The Redmi 9 Activ 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support, comes with Android 11 OS-based MIUI 12. It has an LPDDR4X RAM, eMMC 5.1, it has a rear fingerprint scanner and a Dual SIM+MicroSD Slot and it also has an IR Blaster.
It has a USB Type-C port, it also has a 3.5mm audio jack and weighs 194g. The device comes in two variants 4GB RAM+64GB storage variant and retails for 9,499 INR and a 6GB RAM+128GB variant that retails for 10,999 INR.
The phone comes in metallic black, metallic pink, and turquoise blue color variants.
