Xiaomi announces 100+ new exclusive retail stores in India

Xiaomi India today announced that it has opened over 100 Xiaomi retail stores in the country across tier 5 and tier 6 markets. The company said that it now has presence across cities from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, thereby changing the dynamics of retail business in rural markets and bringing in festive cheer for consumers.

These stores are located in Tier-5 and Tier-6 cities which have a population count of fewer than 50 thousand people. Stores in remotest of areas in the country is to address the needs of customers by making technology more accessible to all. With this, it will also be creating employment opportunities for 200+ families, thereby fostering entrepreneurship across India.

To reach deeper pockets in the country, Xiaomi India will open stores from Kashmir to Kanyakumari with 12 new stores in the East, 26 in the Western regions, 29 in the North, and 33 in the South of the country.

Commenting on the milestone, Muralikrishnan B, Chief Operating Officer, Xiaomi India, shared, ‘We started our Grow with Mi initiative 6 months back and are overwhelmed with the responses and support that we have received from our retail partners across the country. This has encouraged us to further strengthen our network with 100+ new stores. Our aim with the initiative is to increase the availability of Xiaomi and Redmi products in Tier 5 and Tier 6 cities and provide a best-in-class experience in regions that have limited access. We are confident that our retail stores will take the budding entrepreneurs a step closer towards their dream and further generate employment in each pocket of the country.”

In March 2021 with the ‘Grow With Me’ initiative, the company announced that it would double the number of offline retail touch points and several specialty retail stores. Meanwhile, Xiaomi announced a new visual recognition for its premium range products earlier this week. With the aim of consolidating its global brand presence, its premium Mi series products will now be replaced with the new Xiaomi logo. With the introduction of the new brand identity, there will be two distinct product limits under the original corporate brand. Corporate brand will only be represented by the Mi logo.
