The Taiwanese chipmaker is on the rise since 2020 after it refined its new SoCs and made them both efficient and powerful. Though their Helio G series of chips are still very popular for entry-level smartphones, the main focus it gained was with their Dimensity chipsets.
From 2020, they kept on bringing new mid-range chipset and eventually a performance flagship like Dimensity 1200 as well. With low costs, good efficiency coupled with great performance helped smartphone makers choose MediaTek over Qualcomm in a very short time.
MediaTek has already surpassed Qualcomm in terms of market share and is just not stopping yet. The Taiwanese giant has recently posted a whopping NT$42.81 billion (US$1.55 billion) in August 2021 that is a rise of 6.1% sequentially and a huge 30.9% year-on-year increase in revenue.
This goes to show how MediaTek is doing in the market and its prowess to make good mobile chipsets is not stopping. However, it is a dominant force in India but it is slowing gaining its feet in European and American states as more smartphone makers are switching to MediaTek.
Considering how well the Taiwan chipmaker is doing in the market it should continue its good form for next month and following quarter as well.
