As a result, let’s take a look at the top five players who have scored the most amount of goals across the league and international phase this year.

1. Robert Lewandowski – 45 Goals

The Polish striker has been a force to reckon with ever since his transfer to Bayern Munich in 2014/15. Lewandowski has constantly topped the scoring charts in the Bundesliga and subsequently, he is in top form this year. He has scored 45 goals for club and country in 2021. As a result, he is leading the list of top goalscorers of the world this year.

It is needless to say, that the Bayern Munich talisman is going to cross 50 goals this year as he has already scored 6 goals in 4 games for the Bavarian giants. Hence it is very likely that Robert Lewandowski will take the crown for top goalscorer of 2021.

2. Erling Braut Haaland – 38 Goals

Currently, in the second spot in the Norwegian superstar Erling Haaland with 38 goals for club and country this year. The Borussia Dortmund forward has maintained his excellent form this season by scoring five goals in three matches in the league.

3. Lionel Messi – 36 Goals

The Argentine striker who has recently signed with PSG on a free transfer is yet to open his account for the new club. However, Messi has filled the stat sheet by scoring 36 times for his former club Barcelona and Argentina. Moreover, he is only two goals behind Haaland and as a result, the contest for the second spot is heating up.

4. Kylian Mbappe – 34 Goals

Despite a torrid Euros where the French rising star failed to score a goal, he is sitting on the fourth spot with 34 goals this year. Kylian Mbappe is only two goals behind his new teammate Lionel Messi who joined as a free agent this year. The Psg number 7 is in hot form in the French league as he has scored 4 goals in 5 matches.

5. Cristiano Ronaldo – 31 Goals

Taking the fifth spot is none other than Cristiano Ronaldo with 31 goals to his name for club and country. The Portuguese forward scored a brace against Ireland last week and became the all-time international top scorer with 111 goals for Portugal.

Moreover, the forward also returned to Manchester United for a second stint and made a dream start for the Red Devils. CR7 scored two goals in his Manchester United debut against Newcastle United yesterday to help the club win 4-1 in the Premier League.

Hence there could be massive up’s and downs in the top scorer chart as there are still three and a half months left for the year to end. In the end, one thing is for sure that the above-mentioned player will continue scoring plenty of goals this year.
