PSG have agreed on the transfer of left-back Nuno Mendes from Portuguese club Sporting CP on an initial loan deal with the option to buy.
The transfer has been given the here we go signal by Fabrizio Romano, which means that we can expect the official confirmation from the French club in the hours to come before the transfer window closes. PSG will pay €7 million as the loan fee for the defender and have the option to make his move permanent for €40 million.
The player has agreed on a five-year contract with PSG if they choose to make his transfer permanent, and the move caps off one of the best transfer window performances from a club in the history of the sport. Mendes is an extremely talented left-back and came through the Sporting academy before being integrated into the first team.
He has made 47 appearances for the first team and has also earned 5 caps for the Portuguese national team. The final details have all been agreed upon, and the contract will be signed along with his agent Miguel Pinho in the upcoming hours.
PSG are also negotiating with Sporting for the transfer of Pablo Sarabia, and an agreement is expected to be found in the upcoming hours before the transfer window closes.
The French club have managed to sign Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Gini Wijnaldum, Achraf Hakimi and now Mendes in the same window. Mauricio Pochettino now has an all-star squad at his disposal with virtually no weaknesses now that Mbappe is staying, and the focus now turns to the performances on the pitch to try and deliver the Champions League.
