AMD’s Threadripper Pro 5995WX appears in the latest benchmark against the Threadripper Pro 3995WX

The latest benchmarking information states the appearance of the Threadripper Pro 5995WX and the specifications are finally confirmed after various leaks and rumours, and we now know that the 64-core processor is the flagship SKU for AMD’s upcoming Zen 3-powered Threadripper 5000 army and will be the direct successor to the Threadripper Pro 3995WX.

However, for now, we have no idea as to what other specifications of the cards are however, the inclusion of Zen 3 has brought about a 19% IPC improvement to AMD’s Ryzen desktop processors. And since Threadripper sports the same architecture it should also enjoy a similar level of performance uplift.

According to previous rumours, AMD will be keeping the core count the same as always with the configurations for Threadripper 5000 remaining the same at 64, 32, 24, 16, and 12 cores. For the current generation AMD Threadripper chips we have the sTRX4 socket, while the Pro variants go into the sWRX8 socket.

Both sockets are relatively new in the market and we expect the Threadripper 5000 will likely continue to use the aforementioned sockets. Its also expected that AMD’s Threadripper Pro 5000 will be offering the same top-notch features as the existing Threadripper Pro 3000 lineup. It will be the same specs such as the 128 PCIe 4.0 lanes as well support for eight-channel DDR4-3200 memory modules.

In the latest benchmark reports the Threadripper Pro 5995WX completed the Rock Model test in 156.6 seconds, and the Threadripper Pro 3995WX had finished the same test in 205.1 seconds. The Zen 3 flagship took 24% less time to conclude the test. Coming to the School Map test, the Threadripper Pro 5995WX and Threadripper Pro 3995WX finalized at 608 seconds and 844.3 seconds, respectively. The former delivered a 28% lower time.
