T-Mobile’s data breached this time more than 100 million customers information is being sold on an online forum

According to the latest information, T-Mobile confirmed this Sunday it’s investing in the alleged sale of a large trove of its customer’s sensitive data. This information was posted in an online forum by an alleged seller and the forum itself is under investigation by the company.

Sources further indicate that the information is confirmed that the data was sold to a buyer, and the buyer also confirmed that they had taken data that allegedly belongs to T-Mobile’s servers. The data consisted of  Social Security numbers, names, addresses, and driver license information related to more than 100 million people.

Furthermore, sources also report that the samples of the data which was revealed by the buyer were authentic and appeared to belong to actual users of T-Mobile’s services.

“We are aware of claims made in an underground forum and have been actively investigating their validity. We do not have any additional information to share at this time.”

The company is not yet clear as to when the data was accessed from its servers. However, we have also previously heard the reports that T-Mobile has already been targeted previously and has reported several data breaches in the last few years, most recently in December 2020.

During the incident of December 2020, the company reported that call-related information and phone numbers for some of its customers were exposed to danger, however, it reported that at the time it did not include more sensitive info such as names or Social Security numbers.

Dialling two years back to its 2018 breach. During that time, hackers accessed personal information for roughly 2 million T-Mobile customers that included names, addresses, and account numbers. As well as in 2019, hackers managed to yet again breach and access information of some of T-Mobile’s prepaid customers and gained information on their names, addresses, and account numbers.
