Intel Arc will be the company’s new High-Performance Graphics Brand

Under its new branding, Intel will launch hardware, software and services. Its first silicon will appear in products in the first quarter of 2022 for both mobile and desktop form factors

Intel was supposed to launch new GPUs by this year only and we supposed their Xe DG2 gaming cards will be available this year. However, Intel has announced an all total separate graphics brand for its consumers, which makes sense as it plans to introduce more GPUs in future.

It will signify the upcoming consumer high-performance graphics products and will span multiple hardware generations, with the first generation, based on the X^e HPG microarchitecture, code-named Alchemist (formerly known as DG2).

Not only this, but Intel has also revealed the code names of future generations under the Arc brand: Battlemage, Celestial and Druid. All of these GPUs will be based out on Intel’s Xe graphics that according to Intel, deliver exceptional performance and functionality spanning integrated to discrete and data centres to supercomputers.

So, these upcoming Intel Arc graphics products will be based on the X^e-HPG microarchitecture, a convergence of Intel’s X^e LP, HP and HPC microarchitecture. While Alchemist, the first generation of Intel Arc products, will be featuring two of the modern features in gaming: hardware-based ray tracing and artificial intelligence-driven super sampling, and offer full support for DirectX 12 Ultimate.

This is an announcement of Intel coming in a full-fledged way in the GPU market with a new name and motto, while its first products being commercially available next year.
