French giants, Paris Saint-Germain had one of the best transfer windows in their history as they signed, Messi, Ramos, Donnarumma and Wijnaldum for free and have also signed Hakimi in the 2021 summer transfer window. They have one of the best teams on paper and all the football fans are excited to see Messi, Neymar and Mbappe in the front line.

However, the Ligue 1 matches are not broadcasted or live-streamed in India. Star Sports and Sony Networks, two of India’s biggest sports broadcasters have not shown any interest to buy the broadcasting rights for India.

According to a report by SportsTime, French channel TV5Monde Asie has been telecasting the Ligue 1 matches since 2012 in India in their local feed. But the channel shows only a single Ligue 1 match per week.

Sadly, Messi’s debut game for PSG against Strasbourg on 15th August won’t be broadcasted on the channel. However, Brest vs PSG, 3rd match of PSG this season, is scheduled to be telecasted on TV5Monde on 21st August.

The channel is available on DTH platforms Tata Sky and Airtel Digital TV in India. It can also be watched online on the Jio TV app.

Channel Name: TV5Monde Asie

Availability: Tata Sky (Channel 640), Airtel Digital TV (Channel 178), Jio TV app

Language: French

There is also no official streaming partner to show Ligue 1 in India. Fans in India can only stream the French league by accessing paid service beIN Sports Connect with the help of a VPN. However, Amazon Prime Video is trying to acquire the broadcasting rights of Ligue 1, so there is a ray of hope for Indian fans to watch Messi, Neymar and Mbappe in action.
