Apple’s latest survey indicates that the company is planning an upgrade for its 12-inch MacBook

We all remember when the 12-inch MacBook was discontinued by Apple back in 2019. However, there was the latest survey which was sent by Apple to its current owners of the compact machine which suggest that the company is planning something different and amazing for the near future.

According to sources, Apple is sending generic surveys to current owners of the 12-inch MacBook. In the survey, the Cupertino giant is asking its users of their opinion on the laptop’s size, features, and what they would like to change about it.

Earlier there was a similar survey sent to the users of the iPad mini 6, it was to see if there is a viable market for small and powerful tablets. There are speculations that the company is trying to do the same thing here, and since we have Apple’s M1 silicon in current existence, a 12-inch MacBook powered by Apple’s custom silicon will be much welcomed in the market.

The existing model already has the first-generation butterfly keyboard, alongside a fanless design and single USB-C port which does not support Thunderbolt. The product was praised for its extreme level of thinness and design, however, there were always some things missing from making it a dream product.

Many users complained about its fanless design that allows the product to only accommodate a specific Intel chip, which severely limited the machine’s performance. And its butterfly keyboard was a headache to its users and to the company resulting in Apple issuing free keyboard replacements for customers who experienced issues with their butterfly keyboards.

Coming to Apple’s M1, the chip, performs extremely well in the fanless cooling design of the MacBook Air, and there is no doubt that the 12-inch MacBook will benefit extremely in the future with the new SoC.
